About me

I am passionate in helping individuals feel free from the burdens and demands of life stressors, responsibilities of caretaking, repeating unhealthy or destructive patterns, or feeling trapped with shame about the past. I believe that when we feel silenced, trapped, and depleted by the things we have to carry alone without any relief or resolve, we become ill and stuck. We may even have this gnawing feeling that something is very very wrong. Call it anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, or that “there is just something wrong with me”; the label is less important than the fact that something may be off, something isn’t working anymore and you want help. I have worked with people from all facets of life for over 5 years, mostly in the public sector with marginalized populations, from children to older adult, ranging from mild to severe mental health concerns. I deeply value working collaboratively in therapy, looking at both your strengths and barriers with an inquisitive and empathetic approach so that not only practical skills are being built but that you will feel alive, nourished, and fulfilled with your life again. Spiritually also deeply shapes my work as a therapist and I always welcome anyone to bring their spiritual practices and values into the counselling space. Diversity and inclusion are also key values for me. As a cis-gendered BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) individual, I strive to be well aware of the multitudes of influences that shape who we are and the decisions that we make. I always try to work through this perspective with every person I connect with. I use the pronouns she/her/hers. I only see clients virtually at the moment.
