About me

I work mostly from a person-centered approach, meaning that I value most what you are experiencing, including what you think is affecting you the most and what you find the most helpful to address certain issues. I also come from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy background, so I try to help clients understand their emotions as valid and natural regardless of how painful or comfortable they are. As well, I help clients explore what their values are to see if they've lost a part of themselves along the way, or if they have not yet been able to explore who they truly are. I also believe in a holistic approach to mental health, and as such I stress the benefits of good nutrition, exercise, and socializing, among others. I love to listen and want to help clients grow and celebrate their accomplishments. While not practicing counselling, I enjoy caring for plants, spending time in nature, playing video games, and writing my novel about pirates.
