About me

Hello and welcome! I am a Registered Clinical Counselor (RCC # 21526), school counselor, and Physical and Health Education/Outdoor Education teacher based in Vancouver and Sechelt (Sunshine Coast), British Columbia. A recent graduate from the University of British Columbia, my experiences have ranged from working in school settings, not-for-profit organization, and establishing my own private practice. I believe in creating a safe space to process one’s challenges, with the therapeutic relationship being central to this. I also work from Client Centered Approach, prioritizing your needs, goals, and preferences. My goal is to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. In my practice I like to employ different theoretical modalities such as: Emotion-focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Family Based Systems Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy and, Trauma informed interventions I have experience of supporting individuals struggling with: Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Distress, Family Conflict, Eating Disorders, and Other mental health challenges. I view counseling as a collaborative process. Together, we’ll explore your strengths, identify areas for growth, and develop practical strategies to overcome challenges. You’re the expert on your own life, and my role is to empower you. I have worked with clients from various backgrounds, celebrating diversity and respecting cultural differences, which helps to create an inclusive and affirming experience. I recognize that each person is unique, and I endeavor tailor sessions to address the whole person. Away from my professional responsibilities I am an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying walks with my wife, son, and active dog, as well as hiking and biking in the mountains, swimming in the ocean, and exploring beaches, forests and everything in between. I offer in-person and virtual sessions through Zoom, based on you preference and/or geographical location. I also offer an initial phone consultation for 15 minutes to determine if it is the right fit for you, figure out logistics and answer any questions you might have.
